Fancy word for collecting money online

Simply put, ecommerce is accepting people's money for goods or services online. A lot of 'eCommerce Solutions' are way to complicated. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of tech, but if you have a small company, there's no reason to go into debt for a database-integrated enterprise-level ecommerce solution. FYI, each of those five-buck words actually costs at least a couple grand. each. I'm a big fan of Paypal, which now counts for 25% of all transactions on the web. I can easily set up an account and get you in business quickly and inexpensively.

Don't get me wrong, database solutions have their place and make sense if you have a large catalog of products and sere vices. Just be aware that type of site is compatible with the work of setting up a physical storefront. If you are starting out small, that kind of expense can bankrupt you before you start.

One of my common pieces of advice (I've seen a lot of business startups, successes and failures) is to not go deep in debt to start. If you can get started small and then grow with your revenue, you have a much better chance. Better to fail small and try again or change your approach. Mr. Wrigley's soap company did ok, but a little promotional item he created called 'chewing gum' did a lot better.

So be cautious, a lot of companies will try to sell you a 'solution' that might be more for them than for you. Let's discuss your plans and see what makes the most sense.
